Teen Ministry

“All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Our Teen Ministry is for grades 7-12 and is a distinctively Bible-Centered Christian ministry.  Our leaders guide teens through age-appropriate material which is part of the brite* Curriculum. Teens learn that God is real, the He loves them and that He has expressed that love through Jesus Christ. They learn how to live out the truths of the Bible in their lives. In a world desperate for high standards of morality and ethics, we use the Bible to teach teens to honor God as well as their fellow human beings.  Teens will find this to be a safe place where they can foster new friendships while growing closer to a God who loves them. You are invited to bring your teen any Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM, just to check it out.

We encourage out teens to get involved in church ministry. Many of our teens assist in leading AWANA Kids Club on Friday nights, as student leaders. We also empower teens to serve in various other ministries of the church, including music and A/V Ministry, Nursery, and Children’s Church.

We encourage our teens to live on mission. We participate in The Hartford Project, a local urban ministry immersion experience for teenagers in New England. During one week in the summer, church youth groups serve the community, learn about poverty, experience racial reconciliation, and build relationships with the wider body of Christ.

They also have fun doing activities together. In 2019, they worked at a car wash serving the community followed by a hike. They went to a trampoline park and for ice cream to a congregant’s house. They raked the yard of a member who had lost her husband. They served at a street church in Hartford that serves the homeless. Our teens are a vital part of our ministry.

 Testimonials

“The Hartford Project well exceeded my expectations in the quality of speakers and activities to engage the hearts, minds, and faith of the youth in hard issues that face our urban cities.  The students participated in service projects, asked hard questions and worshipped God in a unique and dynamic way.  We will be making THP part of our regular summer planning as a family for many years to come. “ -Anna G., Leader

“I was so blessed to observe our teens walk out if their comfort zones to serve the people of Hartford. We all got to experience life in Hartford, including a team project to run errands for our mom using public transportation. We all got to hang with and worship with inner city and suburban teens who all loved the Lord.” -Pastor Frank Termine, Leader

Journey through the storyline of Scripture!

The brite* Curriculum is a Christ-centered, chronological study that will take your students on a journey through the storyline of Scripture, from Genesis to Revelation. Along the way, students will discover the big picture of what God has been doing throughout redemptive history, and what it means for them.
